Christmas Parade and Setup Outdoor Nativity

Our council will have our “Keep Christ in Christmas” entry in the Jaycee’s Christmas parade on Saturday, 12/4. We will be loading up the trailer on the west side of Epiphany between 8:30 and 8:45 AM and will then car pool to the start of the parade (Kinsley Junior High).

We will hand out tootsie rolls as we walk the parade route. Please note masks are required for those handing out the candy.

Following the parade, we will return to Epiphany and complete setting up the outdoor nativity scene. We are usually back from the parade around 11:15 and it takes about 45 minutes to complete the setup.

The below link includes a signup both activities.

We Need some Help Shoveling Church Sidewalks after Snow

We are looking for some Knights who may be available to help shovel (or snow blow) church sidewalks following a snow before weekday and weekend Masses.

If you might be able to help in this capacity, please add your name to the signup for weekday or weekend Mass. This is not a commitment for every snow event. It just indicates you may be available to help. We would then provide further instructions once snow is in the forecast.

Knights of Columbus Sponsoring Fellowship Event

Knights of Columbus are hosting a fellowship event at Epiphany on Saturday, Aug 21 from 4:30 PM-7 PM. This event will be held in the drive in front of the school. During this event, the K of C will provide food, games and live music performed by Andy Bordewick. The menu includes hot dogs, bagged chips, packaged cookies and beverages as well. Parishioners will be asked to bring their own lawn chairs. There is no cost for the event but donations will be accepted to help cover costs.

To help better gage the food and drinks, we would appreciate an RSVP by 8/20.

Any questions about the event, can be directed to picnic@kofc6498.org.

Please use this link to signup to help.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FREE THROW CONTEST-Cancelled

We have been informed by our school principal that the Diocese of Peoria will not allow any non-school events to be held in our Lyceum. As such, our event on Sunday, March 7th is CANCELED. Obviously, we are disappointed about this.

Mr. Smyth, Epiphany’s physical education teacher, will be allowed to hold the competition but only for school kids during regular school hours. He plans on executing this competition during classes over the next few days.

We apologize greatly that the competition has to be limited in this way, but it is beyond the control of anyone at Epiphany.

There’s new FDA blood donation eligibility guidance for those who receive a COVID-19 vaccination. But good news, there’s no deferral time if you receive the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. If you receive a vaccine, knowing the name of the manufacturer is critical in determining your eligibility.

All donations are tested for COVID-19 antibodies. Results available within one to two weeks via your donor account on both RedCrossBlood.org and the Blood Donor App.

The Red Cross follows the highest standards of safety and infection control. In accordance with CDC guidelines, all donors are required to wear a face covering or mask. Valve face masks are not permitted. Face shields can be worn in addition to face masks but not as a substitute.

October Coat Drive Update

Thank You! Epiphany Knights of Columbus thanks all of the members of the parish and students, faculty, and staff of Epiphany Catholic School for making this year’s coat drive the best yet. We delivered 310 coats to the St. Vincent DePaul Society clothing closet.

This will be many blessings for people during the upcoming winter. Special congratulations to Mrs. Gustafson’s 3rdgrade class who brought in the most coats (39). They earned a pizza party as did Mrs. Lohr’s 2nd grade, Miss Conley’s 4th grade, and Mrs. Craig’s 1st grade classes who each brought in more than 30 coats.

Congratulations to all!

Venerable Father McGivney, Pray for Us!
